About Shiva

A decade ago, I couldn’t even run 50 meters. Determined to improve my health, I began training with discipline and consistency. My first 5K finish sparked a passion that has since led me through 10Ks, 21Ks, marathons, 50Ks, and even a 75K ultra. Every milestone has taught me resilience and the strength of community.

Backed by UESCA certification and experience, I focus on helping adults over 45 build fitness through safe, progressive running — proving that it’s never too late to begin.

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy centers on the belief that running is not just about racing, but about embracing a lifelong journey of movement, growth, and self-discovery. I prioritize consistency and gradual progress to build fitness, avoid injury, and maintain motivation.

My approach integrates strength work, mobility drills, and cross-training to help runners build a resilient foundation. I emphasize enjoying the process — celebrating small wins, staying present, and taking pride in every step.

“Running is more than a sport — it’s a way to connect, heal, and evolve. My mission is to help you make it a joyful, lifelong habit.”

Core Operational Process

How HEJJE operates to keep every step purposeful and adaptable.

Entry and Membership
  • No rigid intake batches; members can join at any time.
  • Each member’s entry point and fitness background are assessed to ensure personalized plan design.
  • Ongoing admissions promote flexibility and adaptability for participants.
Fitness Assessment and Personalized Planning
  • Every new member undergoes a fitness and goal assessment covering experience, health conditions, and other relevant factors.
  • Custom and individualized coaching is the core, focusing on distances from walk-to-run programs up to marathon training.
  • Special consideration is given to injury prevention, pacing, and recovery, especially for members above 45.
Training Format
  • Preference for in-person group runs, technique drills, and recovery sessions, with strong elements of feedback and monitoring.
  • Blended online support (virtual plans and feedback) is available for those unable to attend regularly in person.
  • Structure includes progressive walk-to-run plans, base endurance building, advanced marathon preparation, and holistic integration of strength, recovery, nutrition basics, and mindset.
  • Member progress is tracked through periodic reviews, feedback sessions, and adjustments to the plan.
Event Participation
  • Participation in events is voluntary and selective.
  • Readiness and fitness are analyzed before recommending race participation (5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon).
  • Event support includes pre-race preparation, race-day strategy, and post-event recovery.
  • Most participation is focused on local events and evolves with club growth.
  • For members who prefer not to race, HEJJE provides sustainable weekly structures to enjoy fitness without event participation pressure.
